Scholarship Awards

The Scientific Program Committee will be selecting awardees for 14 scholarships of $800 for domestic travel and 1 scholarship of $1000 to support travel from overseas to attend the 2019 Symposium. These scholarship opportunities will be prominently posted on the ISOM website at least 6 months prior to the 2019 meeting. Winners will be announced at the Opening Session of the Symposium.

The representation of certain groups of people in science and engineering (S&E) education and employment differs from their representation in the U.S. population. Women, persons with disabilities, and three racial and ethnic groups – blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians or Alaska Natives – are underrepresented in S&E. Individuals identifying as members of these groups are encouraged to apply for scholarships to attend the 2019 Symposium.
